(Unsuccessfully tried in the morning, we turned back right after the first couloir for there was no visibility and it was way too hot to get firm snow cover and a decent skiing)

Grabbed a few beers, had a nap.

At 3 pm the temperature cooled off a bit, the sky seemed to be ready to open.

The weather soon turned white again, at least then the snow was solid.

And exhausted smiles

(1.30 from the hut to the saddle, 900 D+ , skis on our backpacks all the time)

We wouldn’t miss the chance to get there on our last day. 3.30 pm skis on and ready to give it a second chance!

Our time in Slovakia is almost over and we finally made it to one of the most satisfying tour of the week:

Been planning it since we got there in Zelené Valley, we were just waiting for favorable conditions

..And with the best possible snow

.. And Baranie finally gave us the pleasure to meet its top in full sun conditions!

1000 D+ ascent to Baranie Rohi Peak through a couple of endless chutes separated by the wide Vel’ká Zmrzlá Valley, the only glacier left in High Tatra.
